Cal State Fullerton offers provisional admission based upon self-reported and in progress coursework as indicated on the Cal State Apply application. Provisional admissions means that our offer is contingent upon applicants continuing to meet all the requirements for admissions to CSUF. All applicants must maintain eligibility by successful completion of First-year or Transfer admission requirements and adhering to term enrollment deadlines.

What does provisional admission mean?

Can I defer my admissions acceptance for a future term?

Cal State Fullerton is a highly impacted campus on all levels, and as such, does not defer admissions. If a student is unable to enroll for the admitted term, they will need to reapply for a future term. 

What happens if I decide not to attend Cal State Fullerton after accepting my admission offer?

Please notify the Office of Admissions as soon as possible if you have decided not to attend. If you have already registered for classes, be sure to drop all of your classes. If you were required to pay the enrollment deposit, this amount will be forfeited as the deposit is not refundable. If you choose to consider enrolling at CSU Fullerton in the future, you will need to reapply for admission and meet the admission requirements and deadlines at that time.
