Submitting Official Transcripts & Exam Credit

After an application to CSUF is submitted a "Tasks" list is created with individually tailored transcript requests and deadlines in your CSUF Portal. Please activate your student portal as soon as possible and view your Task list before submitting transcripts.

What are official transcripts?
Official documents are delivered securely from the originating institution (i.e. the high school attended) directly to CSUF in an electronic format, or as a hard copy mailed in the institution's sealed envelope, not opened by the student, or anyone other than a CSUF Admission staff member.

Official High School Transcripts

First-time, first year applicants will be required to submit official high school transcripts as part of their provisional admission. Only official high school transcripts will be accepted.

Final transcripts should have all grades and graduation date. First-Year Applicants with college coursework not included on their final high school transcript will be required to submit official college transcripts. 

Only official high school transcripts will be accepted.

Sending Electronic High School Transcripts

Electronic transcripts are preferred and can significantly expedite the processing time. CSUF accepts official electronic high school transcripts ordered from Parchment ]and Naviance.  Electronic transcripts are preferred, however, if your school does not use this service, please request paper transcripts.
When ordering a transcript select,  "California State University, Fullerton"  from the drop-down list. Please avoid selecting "OTHER" or manually entering email addresses. However, if your institution does not already have CSUF’s contact information on file, please use admissions@fullerton.edu to complete your order. 

Mailing Paper High School Transcripts

If at all possible, electronic transcripts are preferred and can significantly expedite the processing time. However, if your institution does not offer electronic delivery, physical transcripts may be sent. Official transcripts must be delivered sealed in the original envelope to be considered Official.

If possible, please legibly write your name and CSUF student ID (CWID) on the outside of the sealed envelope.  Physical transcript requests are not immediate. They require processing time from the institution you attended, so check with your institution and plan accordingly. Transcripts that are requested before a deadline but delivered after will be considered late.

Sending International High School/ Secondary School Transcripts

After applying to the Cal State Fullerton, you will be asked to submit transcripts. This includes high school/secondary school transcripts, as well as high school graduation date (if completed). Please note:

  • If admitted,  official transcripts will be required from each school listed on your application, grades 9-12.
  • All academic records received become official university property and cannot be returned or reissued.
  • If documents are not in English, submit the original-language transcript or mark sheets.
  • Credential evaluations by third-parties are not required for undergraduate applicants. However, official transcripts can be sent through the services of  International Education Evaluations (IEE), World Education Services (WES) or The Evaluation Company (SPANTRAN) only. Evaluations and transcripts from any other third-party source will not be accepted as official.

If you are currently in your senior year of high school, you must submit 7th semester transcripts. Upon high school graduation, you will be required to submit final official transcripts.

Official College Transcripts

Transfer applicants are expected to submit an official transcript from every institution they have attended, even if they withdrew before completing a term and whether or not the courses are transferable. If you did not attend a school that is listed, an Official Letter of Non-Attendance or Non Enrollment is required to satisfy the Task List item. Please Note: Official final transcripts should include all grades and degrees earned, if applicable.

Credential and graduate applicants are expected to submit an official transcript from the college or university from which they earned their bachelor’s degree. Additional official transcripts may be requested. Please check your Tasks in the CSUF student portal to ensure there are no outstanding items needed to complete your application.

Only OFFICIAL College transcripts will be accepted.

CSUF will accept transcripts sent directly from National Student Clearing House , Parchment, SCRIP-SAFE to admissions@fullerton.edu.

When ordering a transcript select "California State University, Fullerton" from the drop-down list. Please avoid selecting "OTHER" or manually entering email addresses. However, if your institution does not already have CSUF’s contact information on file, please use admissions@fullerton.edu to complete your order.

CSUF will also accept emailed PDF official college transcripts sent directly from National Student Clearing House and SCRIP-SAFE to admissions@fullerton.edu.

Undergraduate Applicants

  • Official original-language transcripts will be required from each school you have attended.
  • If documents are not in English, you must submit a word-for-word certified English translation. We do not accept credential evaluations from third-party companies.
  • All academic records received become official university property and cannot be returned or reissued.
  • Credential evaluations by third-parties are not required for undergraduate applicants. However, official transcripts can be sent through the services of  International Education Evaluations (IEE), World Education Services (WES) or The Evaluation Company (SPANTRAN) only. Evaluations and transcripts from any other third-party source will not be accepted as official. 

Graduate Applicants

Some Master's Programs require you to submit additional documents to complete your application.

  • Official Transcripts are required from the university where the bachelor’s degree is earned.
  • All academic records received become official records of the University and cannot be returned or reissued.
  • Students must submit the official original-language transcript or mark sheets, as well as a word-for-word certified English translation  if documents are not in English. Or, submit a full credential evaluation from World Education Services (WES) or The Evaluation Company (Spantran). Evaluations from any other third-party source must be accompanied by Official Transcripts.

Offical Exam Scores

If you have taken an external examination to satisfy a subject requirement (or for admission requirements), please review the following  document for minimum passing score, course equivalencies and units earned.

Official Exam Scores must be issued by the appropriate issuing body (ex: College Board, TOEFL, IELTS, etc). Test scores that appear on transcripts will not be accepted for credit.

Sending Exams for College Credit

Send your official exam credit to Cal State Fullerton using the school code 4589.

Tuffy  TIP 1:
