Cal State Fullerton is an impacted campus at the first year students level for all majors. Impaction means that there are more applications for the campus than can be accommodated. Due to the quantity and quality of the applicant pool and limited space, we may establish a waitlist.  If it is determined that we will establish a waitlist, details will be posted on this page.

Waitlist FAQs

If I receive a waitlist offer, does that mean I have been admitted?

No. If you receive a waitlist offer, it does not mean that you have been admitted. If you are selected, you will receive an offer of admission, at which point you can accept or decline.

How will I be notified if I am offered a position in the waitlist?

You will receive an email from Cal State Fullerton notifying you that you have been offered a space on the waitlist. The email will be sent to your CSUF and personal email addresses. You can also view your waitlist offer in your CSUF student portal.

Who is eligible to be on the waitlist?

If CSUF Admissions is able to admit from the waitlist, you will be notified after May 1st. If you are selected from the waitlist, you will receive an admit letter via email and instructions on how to accept your offer of admission and pay the non-refundable $250 Enrollment Administrative Charge.

How are students selected from the waitlist?

The waitlist is ranked, and offers are extended in order until capacity is met, with priority given to local first-year students.
