Admissions Updates

Fall 2018 (First-Time Freshmen Undergraduate)

CSU Fullerton will open for First-Time Freshmen applicants for Fall 2018 beginning October 1, 2017 through November 30, 2017.  Apply early!

CSU Fullerton is an impacted campus for all first time freshmen. Impaction means that there are more applications for a campus than can be accommodated. In order to ensure that capacity is not exceeded, more rigorous standards are applied to the freshmen applicant pool.

Like last Fall, we anticipate the competition for the Fall of 2018 to be quite keen as it was last Fall.  The most competitive majors for FTF are Nursing and Computer Engineering integrated BS/MS.

Also be sure to read about our Fall 2018 First-Time Freshmen campus and major impaction policy, admission requirements, including additional major requirements, and admission deadlines.  We also encourage you to review our new First-Time Freshman Guide.

      Fall 2018 (Graduate)

CSU Fullerton will begin accepting applications from graduate and post-baccalaureate applicants for the Fall 2018 term beginning October 1st. The Admissions Office continues to accept and review applications until enrollment goals have been met. Please be advised that due to enrollment pressures, we anticipate closing many admission categories quickly. Apply early!

Information regarding more detailed admission requirements, degrees offered, program adviser contacts, e-mail addresses and phone numbers may be obtained on the Graduate Studies Website at www.fullerton.edu/graduate

          Fall 2018 (Transfer Undergraduate)

CSU Fullerton will open for Upper Division Transfer applicants for Fall 2018 beginning October 1, 2017 through November 30, 2017.  Apply early!

CSU Fullerton is an impacted campus at the transfer level. Impaction means that there are more applications for a campus than can be accommodated. In order to ensure that capacity is not exceeded, more rigorous standards are applied to the transfer applicant pool. Impacted criteria may include local vs. out of local and major program impaction.

Admission to all majors at CSU Fullerton is competitive as we continue to have more qualified applicants than available new student spaces. All transfer students must declare a major when submitting their application. Transfer applicants must meet minimum CSU Upper Division Transfer eligibility requirements to be considered. Admission determination is then based on major specific criteria including lower division major preparation, General Education Courses, and minimum GPA for the major.

By the end of Spring 2018, applicants must have completed the four basic subjects in General Education (Golden Four) and have earned at least a C- grade or better in each course.
Also be sure to read about our Fall 2018 Upper Division Transfer campus and major impaction policy, admission requirements, including additional major requirements, and admission deadlines.  We also encourage you to review our new Transfer Student Guide.
