English Language Proficiency
Regardless of citizenship, applicants are required to demonstrate English Proficiency. Undergrads are required to demonstrate if they not attended a school where English is the principal language of instruction, for at least three years of full-time study. Graduates are required if they do not possess a bachelor's degree from a postsecondary institution where English is the principal language of instruction or have not attended school for at least three years full-time where English is the principal language of instruction.

The test score must be valid within two years prior to March 30 for fall term applicants and prior to August 31 for spring term applicants. Due to the paper-delivered TOEFL exam being discontinued, it will only be accepted through April 11, 2023. CSUF TOEFL Institution Code - 4589
